How To Order
Pickup at the farm store
Pickup is free and it is how most of our customers buy. Order online, we pack it, and you collect it from the store at 457 Country Club Rd in Troutville, fifteen minutes north of Roanoke. We will let you know when it is ready.
Ordering ahead rather than turning up is the reliable way to get eggs and the popular cuts. They go quickly, and what is on the shelf on a Saturday afternoon is not what was there on Thursday.
Why we pack to a schedule
We are a working farm, not a warehouse. Packing orders on set days means the meat comes out of the freezer once, goes into your hands cold, and nobody spends the week walking back and forth to the freezer instead of looking after cattle. Order by Monday night and your order is packed mid-week.
Buying in bulk
If you are filling a freezer, buying a box works out cheaper per pound than buying cut by cut, and it is the way most of our regular customers shop. If you want a larger quantity than what is listed, ring the store on (540) 240-9955 and we will tell you what we have and when the next animals are back from the processor.
What to expect when you open the box
- Everything arrives frozen and stays frozen until you use it
- Cuts are vacuum sealed and labeled, so you are not guessing in six weeks
- Grass-finished beef is leaner than what you buy in a supermarket, so cook it hotter and shorter and rest it properly
- If anything is not right, ring us. We would rather fix it than have you not come back
