Grass-fed beef near Roanoke, with a real farm behind every order.
Choose the ground beef you use every week, steaks for a good dinner and roasts worth slowing down for. Our cattle are raised and finished on grass in Troutville, and our farm store puts you in touch with the people behind the food.
A useful first order starts with what you actually cook. Choose one familiar staple and one cut you want to try. You do not need to buy a freezer full of beef to learn whether farm-direct shopping fits your household.

Shopping directly from a farm gives you several ways to buy. The right one depends on whether you want complete control over tonight's meal, a selection for the freezer or a larger order arranged in advance. A low headline price is not useful until you know the cuts and quantity it buys.
| Buying approach | Good fit | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Individual cuts | Trying the farm or choosing exact meals | Package weight, price, availability and pickup timing |
| A selection of several cuts | Building a varied freezer without a whole-animal commitment | Enough quick-cooking and slow-cooking cuts for your routine |
| Quarter, half or whole beef inquiry | Planning a much larger purchase | Price basis, processing, cut choices, packaged yield and collection arrangements |
Our ground beef collection, steak selection and roasts and slow-cooking cuts make those choices easier. For a larger order, use the quarter, half and whole beef planning guide and speak with the farm before committing.
Our cattle finish on grass. We rotate them through pasture and give the grazed ground time to recover. The laying hens follow the cattle, scratching through the grazed ground and spreading fertility as part of the same working farm.
Our published practices are specific: no feedlot, no growth promotants, no routine antibiotics and no pasture spraying. Read how we raise our animals for the full explanation.
For a shopper, the useful distinction is traceability. You can identify the farm, read its approach, choose an actual cut and ask the people selling it a direct question. Start with a familiar meal, then decide which products you want to keep in your regular rotation.
A pack of ground beef, a favorite steak and a roast give you three different ways to get to know the farm. Choose each item from the current catalog.
Place your weekly order by Monday night. Choose farm pickup or the delivery option offered for your address at checkout. We pack orders mid-week and notify you when yours is ready for pickup or delivered.
The published local-delivery minimum is $50. Reaching that amount does not establish delivery coverage for a Roanoke address. Check your actual checkout options before arranging your week, especially when ordering from farther away.
Farm pickup is at 457 Country Club Road, Troutville, VA 24175. Current store hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday; closed Wednesday and Sunday. Wait for your ready notification before collecting an online order.
Read the current ordering instructions and get farm contact details. If a specific steak or roast is the reason for your trip, order it ahead or call (540) 240-9955 to check availability.
Plan by cooking method instead of buying only the cuts you recognize. A steak suits a short cooking window. A roast belongs on a day when you can let it cook slowly. Ground beef lets you change the meal without changing the main ingredient.
Keep the package labels with the meat so you can identify the cut later. When you find a product you enjoy, use its exact name for the next order. That avoids confusing a chuck steak with a chuck roast, or a prepared sausage with plain ground beef.
If you are combining meat with eggs or other farm-store products, review those listings individually. The cattle's grass-finished diet is a beef claim; it should not be read as a claim that every species or every item in the store is fed identically.

Yes. Pure Grass Farm describes its cattle as grass-fed and grass-finished, with no feedlot finishing. We rotate the herd through pasture and let grazed ground recover. Our farming-practices page explains that approach in more detail and is a good place to start before your first order.
No. The farm store lists individual ground-beef packages, steaks, roasts and other cuts. You can build an order around a few meals. Quarter, half and whole beef inquiries are a separate conversation about current availability, processing, price and pickup.
Delivery eligibility depends on the address and order. Enter your information at checkout to see the options offered. The current local-delivery minimum is $50, but meeting the minimum does not guarantee that an address is on a delivery route. Farm pickup is another option.
Place the order by Monday night under the current weekly schedule. Orders are packed mid-week, and the farm sends a notification when yours is delivered or ready for pickup. Check the ordering page for current instructions rather than treating store opening hours as an online-order readiness promise.
Start with ground beef for a familiar recipe, then add a steak or roast based on how you like to cook. This is a suggested way to try the selection, not a fixed bundle. Choose the available packages and quantities on the individual product pages.
Each product page shows the current listed price and available package options. Compare the package as well as the price, especially when products have different weights or variants. A price for a single retail cut is not a quote for a quarter or half beef order.
A steak is usually portioned for a shorter cooking session, while a roast is a larger cut often suited to a longer preparation. The exact cut still matters. Read the product description and choose a recipe for that cut rather than assuming every steak or roast cooks the same way.
The farm currently lists Saturday store hours as 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Online pickup still depends on your order being ready. Check the notification first and contact the store if you need to coordinate timing. Wednesday and Sunday are currently closed.
Our farm store is in Troutville, in Botetourt County. It offers a place to shop for farm-raised meat and ask about its source, but this page does not describe a downtown Roanoke branch. Use the Troutville address for pickup and directions.
Browse the full farm-store catalog for the products currently listed alongside beef. Check each item's package, description and availability. Ordering several categories together can make pickup useful, but the selection changes and a category listing does not guarantee every product is in stock.
Call (540) 240-9955 or send a message through the farm contact page. Include your preferred order size, town, timing and the questions you need answered. Ask for the price basis, processing arrangements and expected packaged quantity before deciding on a larger purchase.
